Harvey Weich Obituary

Harvey Daniel Weich, 67, of Plainville, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away in the comfort of his home on Tuesday, April 9, 2024. He was the devoted husband for 34 years to Patricia “Patty” (Bader) Weich.

Harvey was born in New Britain on September 4, 1956 son to the late Rudolf and Margarete (Lisdat) Weich. Following his completion of trade school, along with his vast knowledge of mechanical operations, Harvey went on to work for Goss & Deeleuw in Berlin where he was dedicated to his profession for 28 years. He poured his heart and soul into his career and had a work ethic that was unmatched. He was well-respected by his employer and colleagues and always willing to help complete any task. In addition, he worked for Industrial Surplus in Berlin and Plymouth Oil. Following retirement, Harvey continued to work hard each day, tinkering with items at home and spending many hours enjoying his love for gardening. Harvey was a master mind, knew how things operated mechanically, always coming up with handy ideas and solutions to any problems. He valued the notion of working smarter, not harder. He had a profound love for tractors and engines and was known for his collection of these treasured items. Although Harvey will be missed deeply, his family takes solace in knowing that he is at peace after living a life to the fullest and dedicating his love, skills, and knowledge to his family and his passions.

In addition to his wife, Patricia “Patty” (Bader) Weich, Harvey is survived by his sons, Eric Weich and his wife, Meghan, Kyle Curtis and his wife, Eliza, and Bryan Curtis and his wife, Beth; his grandchildren, Theo Weich, Lily Weich, Nicholas Curtis, Alexander Curtis, Rebecca Curtis, and Andrew Curtis; his brother, Larry Weich; his brother-in-law, Edward Bader and his wife, Nancy; his sister-in-law, Gina Curtis and her husband, Jeffrey; and his nieces and nephews, along with extended family members and friends. In addition, he leaves behind his 3 kitties Elsa, Tom & Jerry that he loved very much.
