Soup and a Movie: Maudie

To celebrate National Soup Month, we’ll be serving soup and showing the movie, Maudie. Set in rural Nova Scotia in the 1930’s, Maudie (Sally Hawkins) is an arthritic woman working as a housekeeper while she hones her skills as an artist and eventually becomes a beloved figure in the community. Based on the true story of famed Canadian folk painter, Maud Lewis. Also stars Ethan Hawke. (2017) (PG-13) Please bring a can of soup (if possible) to donate to a local food pantry, and your lunch, and the Friends of the Library will provide a variety of hot soups & coffee. Annual Scholarship Fundraiser Dinner

The Annual Scholarship Pasta Dinner will be held at Nuchie’s on Thursday, January 18th with a snow date of January 25th. The supper is from 5pm to 7pm and all Bristol Historical Society members and the public are welcome.
This event is held as a fundraiser for our Scholarship Fund. The Grant is then awarded to a local high school senior that has been chosen from numerous individuals who apply for the Bristol Historical Society Grant. The presentation is made at the Annual Dinner which will be held on May 17, 2018.
