ZUMBA at the Carousel Museum
July 3 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 am
As part of our Take Care Tuesdays the Carousel Museum is continuing to offer Zumba with Marisa Murray.
Marisa Murray, licensed ZUMBA Fitness instructor, was born to a ballerina mother in Indonesia. Though dance was in her blood, Marisa found that Ballet was not for her. She began her journey in search of the dance style that best fit her which ultimately led to Zumba. Zumba classes at Valley Ballet & Dance Fitness fulfilled her passion for dance while also benefiting her health benefits in a fun and exciting way. Encouraged by others to become an instructor, Marisa found her calling. With a BA from University of Hartford in Graphic Design and an artistic talent Marisa found Zumba instruction to be a creative outlet. Marisa’s Zumba class features energetic creative dance choreography with a focus on total fitness.

Amusement Park Restoration Art (41,194 Views)
Amusement Park Restoration Art
July 19 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Coming on Thursday July 19th at 7 pm in the Bristol Historical Society at 98 Summer Street in Bristol, CT.
“Amusement Park Restoration Art” an evening with artists William Finkenstein and Cortlandt Hull, who have worked on restoration of figures, band organs, scenic paintings and carousels all over the country.
One of the most unusual, was a themed carousel on “The Twilight Zone” in honor of Rod Serling, who had ridden this carousel as a boy in Binghamton, N.Y. The very visual program will explore the various wood carvers that created amusement park rides and figures. Both artists will bring figures or artwork to view during the presentation. – William Finkenstein has been doing restoration art for over 35 years, and was the original founder and designer of the New England Carousel Museum. Cortlandt Hull created the large amusement park mural for the museum, as well as over 80 other paintings for restorations of carousels.
BHS members are free, while the general public’s admission fee is $5. Light refreshments will be served. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. at the air-conditioned facility.

Encouraged by others to become an instructor, Marisa found her calling. With a BA from University of Hartford in Graphic Design and an artistic talent Marisa found Zumba instruction to be a creative outlet. ZUMBA at the Carousel Museum (38,667 Views)
ZUMBA at the Carousel Museum
July 31 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 am
