Imagine Nation, A Museum Early Learning Center located at One Pleasant Street in Bristol will hold an Early Learning School Open House on Wednesday, June 5th from 4:00-6:00pm.

Museum After Hours: Lecture, Tour & Music Series
June 13 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

The New England Carousel Museum lecture series, held on the second Thursday of each month in 2019 will feature presentations, exhibition openings, artist talks and workshops. Join scholars and experts as they share their vast knowledge of the art and history of carousels, carvers, artists, and your favorite carousels. Museum After Hours will be held from 6:00-7:30 PM with a wine and cheese reception taking place 6:00-6:30 PM. Admission to this series is included with general admission, and as always museum members are free.

Thursday, June 13: Carousel’s Cousins; Derby racers, Track machines, and other early thrill rides.

Derby Racers were early gravity based horse rides, track machines were a close relative of the carousel and so many other early amusement rides were a SPIN off the Carousel. Discover all the early rides as we look at the beginnings of Amusement rides!

Bristol/Forestville Historian, Tom Dickau, will present the second in a series of multi-media programs utilizing an extensive collection of negatives, glass slides and other artifacts donated to the presenter. Bristol/Forestville images (400-500 or more), many never seen before, will be utilized. Program Two will start with a brief review of the first, then go on to cover more of Moulthrop’s self-described personal life, depicted in ten years of diary recordings.
