Central CT Walk to End Alzheimer's

Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. This inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to join the fight against the disease! Every dollar raised through Walk to End Alzheimer's allows the Alzheimer's Association to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.

The Walk To End Alzheimer's will look a little different this year! We will not be
gathering in large groups as we have in past years. We will, however, be together - walking, celebrating and honoring our loved ones - as a community and
with one voice. Register or donate today to help those in your community and beyond.

Pequabuck River Duck Race (Cancelled)

The Bristol Chamber of Commerce has made the difficult decision to cancel the 16th Annual Pequabuck River Duck Race, originally scheduled for May 3, 2020 and rescheduled for October 11, 2020.
Maintaining the health and safety of our community, vendors, sponsors, volunteers, and staff is our top priority. With the concern regarding a resurgence of COVID-19 in the fall, and the CDC and State guidelines for outdoor group gatherings and social distancing, logistically this event cannot be held.
We look forward to continuing this tradition in 2021, mark your calendars for May 2, 2021!
All tickets purchased for the 2020 Bristol Chamber of Commerce Pequabuck River Duck Race will be honored in 2021. All ticket holders will be personally notified of the cancelation by a member of the Chamber staff, if you would prefer a refund please contact the Chamber at (860) 584-4718.
All partners, vendors, and sponsors will also be personally contacted by a member of the Chamber staff.

A Celebration of Humanity: 79th Annual "Virtual" OM Show, 'Another Day of Sun'

Thursday, October 15, 2020 at 6 PM EDT – 7 PM EDT

The Boys & Girls Club of Bristol’s 36th Annual 2020 Humanitarian Dinner, traditionally held in October each year, has unfortunately been cancelled as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
In-keeping with celebrating humanity and the strength of our community, the Boys & Girls Club of Bristol and the OM Keystone Association are excited to present A Celebration of Humanity: 79th Annual “Virtual” OM Show, to celebrate the ongoing humanitarian efforts throughout our city.
The Virtual OM Show will premiere at 6pm on Thursday, October 15th at www.BBGC.org/OMShow. There is no charge to view this year’s OM Show, and donations will be accepted in support of the Club. Donors giving gifts of $50 or more will receive a pair of Boys & Girls Club of Bristol socks, to wear while they put up their feet and enjoy the show at home! Visit www.BBGC.org/OMShow for details! The OM Show will be available for viewing on the site after the premiere for your convenience.
This year’s theme “Another Day of Sun,” was chosen by the OM Keystone Association to “Give the feeling that a more positive day is coming,” according to OM Show Director, Allen Stone. By going virtual, the OM Keystone Association continues its 79-year tradition of the OM Show, the longest continuously running variety show in the country.

Forestville Traffic Box Refurbishment Unveiling

Forestville Traffic Box Refurbishment Unveiling
October 28 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

JOIN US for the unveiling of the refurbished utility box in Forestville Center!
PLEASE WEAR A MASK, COVERING YOUR NOSE AND MOUTH.
The years have not been kind to the beautiful work of James Gaffney’s interpretation of Georges Seurat’s A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte on the Utility Box on the corner of Broad St and Central St.
Bristol’s City Arts and Culture Commission has teamed up with The Broad View Fund at Main Street Community Foundation to reinvigorate the landmark box in downtown Forestville at Quinlan Park, across from Nuchies and 150 Central.
The @cityartsandculturebristolct has worked with the original artist James Gaffney to recreate his work and enlisted the services of Bristol Sign Art to “wrap” the box in vinyl which will stand the test of time.
Join us for a social distancing unveiling, some hot chocolate and come see WALLY THE DUCK from the Pequabuck River Duck Race!
