The City of Bristol will open its popular Farmers Market on Saturday, June 20th from 10am-1pm in downtown across from City Hall.

Products will range from farm fresh vegetables, fruits and products from local farms; to homemade beef jerky; to baked goods, coffee, maple syrup and other locally-produced products. The markets are scheduled to continue each Saturday through October.

The Connecticut Department of Agriculture has deemed farmers markets an essential activity, allowing the Bristol Farmers Markets to continue this summer as an access point to provide a safe and reliable nutritious food source to the community.

3rd Annual Mayor’s Back to School Pencil Hunt  (155,173 Views)


The 3rd Annual Mayor’s Back to School Pencil Hunt, for children grades Pre-K-8, will be held Saturday, Aug. 22, at Muzzy Field from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The annual event for Bristol families features a pencil hunt for prizes that include Leapfrog Academy, an Amazon Fire, a Kindle, a Chromebook, a TI84 calculator, binders, notebooks, pens, and more, according to the release announcing the event.

The event is free, but requires registration ahead of time through the Bristol Parks and Recreation website, www.bristolrec.com.

The event will follow safety guidelines, including staggering participants by age groupings to allow for cleaning. Further information is also available on the Parks and Rec website and should be reviewed prior to attending the event.

Local sponsors include First Bristol Federal Credit Union, Bristol Plaza and Shop-Rite of Bristol among others.

The rain date is set for Saturday, Aug. 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
