YELLOWSTONE: A RANGER'S PERSPECTIVE

This program, led by Gary Melnysyn, avid outdoor enthusiast and certified Master Naturalist, covers Yellowstone National Park’s geological as well as wildlife resources. Discussions will include the various thermal features and their origins as well as everyones favorites: wolves, bears and bison. Gary will share his Park Ranger experiences with the audience along with a variety of photos he has captured over the years.

As well as being an avid outdoor enthusiast and award-winning photographer, Gary has been interested in wildlife from a very young age. As a certified Master Naturalist, Master Wildlife Conservationist and National Park Ranger, he has led and narrated eco tours as well as taught adults and children alike about the coastal ecosystem of Florida, the wildlife of New England and the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.

The Long Island Estates that Inspired the Great Gatsby

Join us on Zoom as we explore the magnificent estates and mansions of Long Island’s “Gold Coast” that are believed to have inspired The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.* Led by Gary Lawrance of Lawrance Architectural Presentations in Stony Brook, New York, the program will include aerial photos circa 1926, as well as archival photos showcasing the interiors of the mansions. An architect and historian, Mr. Lawrance will share his extensive knowledge of the Gilded Age. A Q &A session will follow. Advance registration is required for this program and the book discussion.
