About this event
This presentation will explain the differences between Skilled Nursing Homes, Independent and Assisted Living Communities, Continuing Care Retirement Communities and Memory Care Communities. Liz Cornish will then focus specifically on Assisted Living and Memory Care Communities. She will explain how these communities can differ in care and amenities. She will provide information regarding questions that families should ask and things to look for in an Assisted Living or Memory Care Community.

Liz will also provide information on how and when to start a conversation with your family member about transitioning to an assisted living or memory care community.

Lastly, she will discuss the cost of Assisted Living verses the cost of remaining in the home. Different ways to pay for care in the home and ways to help cover the cost of Memory Care or Assisted Living will be addressed.

Presented by Physical Therapist and Dementia specialist Liz Cornish, MSPT. Liz works extensively in the fields of assisted living and memory care. Liz is the owner of New Season in Life, LLC.

The next meeting of The West End Association will be this Thursday, August 18, 2022. This is the major meeting before the festival on Saturday. We will be discussing volunteer assignments, vendor placements, radio dispersals etc. This is the planning session before things are set in concrete. We would like any available volunteers, new and old to attend if possible.

The meeting will be at The Lincoln Room at 38 Barlow St. We will have pizza and sodas during the social hour at 6:30 and the meeting will start promptly at 7:00 PM. We have lots to go over but we expect the meeting to last only 1 hour.
