Annual Holiday Mini-Sale

The Friends of the Bristol Public Library will hold a Holiday Mini-Sale throughout the month of December in the lobbies of the Bristol Public Library at 10 High Street, and the Manross Memorial Library, 260 Central Street. Items will be available for purchase whenever the libraries are open.

The sale features nearly-new, gift-quality books for readers of all ages, a large selection of children’s picture books, movies, music, and other holiday-themed items. New items will be added frequently throughout the run of the sale.

This annual event provides shoppers with the opportunity to stock up on reasonably priced holiday gifts and winter reading material, and the proceeds from the sale help the Friends fund reading programs and activities for all ages at both Bristol libraries.

Santa’s Elf Entourage will be back at the Indian Rock Nature Preserve the first two weekends of December, 2023. Celebrate the holiday season with s’mores, caroling, cookies & hot cocoa, crafts, and of course, visiting with the farm animals. Be sure to bring your own camera to capture the magic, no photographer will be on-site. Proceeds from this event will benefit Environmental Learning Centers of CT’s Education programs at Indian Rock Nature Preserve and Barnes Nature Center.

Bethel New England will host a Christmas Walk through drama at Bethel Church, 750 Stevens St., Bristol on Friday, December 8, 2023.

Scheduled tours run from 4pm to 8pm with groups of 20-25 being guided through the theater, leaving every 10 minutes. The tour will be completed with an all-out cookie and hot chocolate Christmas wonderland in their gymnasium.

Come hear the angel choir, witness the new born Jesus, and hear the bleating of sheep in the fields of Bethlehem. Join us for a Christmas wonderland experience with coffee, tea, hot chocolate and tons of Christmas desserts to round off this awe-inspiring moment for all ages.

St. Paul Catholic High School’s 13th Annual Frosty Falcon 5K Run and Walk and a new Reindeer Mile Run!


Bristol, CT – December 2, 2023 –St. Paul Catholic High School will host its 13th Annual Frosty Falcon 5K in memory of Michael Walsh ’07; on Saturday, December 9, 2023 with a start time of 9:00am. The entry fee for the Frosty Falcon 5K Run/Walk is $30.00.

NEW THIS YEAR is the Reindeer Mile Run for children in grades 4-8. A mile run on the St. Paul campus for our youngest runners will begin at 8:45am.

Proceeds from this race will benefit the Michael Walsh ‘07 Scholarship Fund which supports students furthering their education here at St. Paul Catholic High School.

The Frosty Falcon 5K and Reindeer Mile Run is a local community-wide event and all are encouraged to join us. Tie up your running/walking shoes and wear your festive attire! Runners/walkers with strollers are welcome on the 5K course which is flat, fast and simple to navigate. The start and finish line is at St. Paul Catholic High School, 1001 Stafford Ave., Bristol. There will be post-race water, snacks, music and awards to round out the festivities!

Luminaries symbolize the spirit of the holidays, bringing light and warmth into our community members homes, honoring loved ones with peace, and guiding residents into a bright and joyful New Year.To dedicate a Luminary, please fill out the Luminary Dedication Form and include the name and/or message you would like inscribed on each luminary, and our staff will transcribe this onto a bag for you. Luminaries will be displayed around the perimeter of the field and will remain lit through the event.

Menu: Pineapple glazed ham, mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, dinner roll and cupcake

For home delivery: Use the QR code on the accompanying flyer here or call 860-589-7744 Line 1. Leave a voicemail with Your Name, Number of ham dinners needed, Address, Phone number and Apartment number, if applicable. Meals will be delivered on Christmas Day between 11am and 1pm. We will call to confirm your order. Delivery orders will be taken until December 18th or until we reach our limit of 100 meals to be delivered.
